But let us not forget that keeping employees happy all the time in any economy is difficult and hard work. The reason is due to that happiness comes from within a person. However, family, friends, colleagues, and employment can add to or detract from someone’s happiness level. Consequently, if the workplace is stressful, employees’ production goes down. A recent survey by Partners in Leadership confirms that when employees are happier at work, 85% say they take more initiative; 73% say they are better collaborators; and 48% care more about their work. Effective leaders who understand the association between higher levels of engagement, happiness, and productivity facilitate movement in the right direction and have people feel good about it.
On this article, I will share some effective ways to keep employees productive and at the same time they are happy.
- Recognize their progress:
Helping guide people into the right direction will give them feel that their work is matter and there is someone who aware about their performance and where they can possibly go to next. So, constructive criticism is very helpful and important to improve employees work and make them feel happy and comfortable.
- Be receptive to employee preference:
Nowadays it is important that the business owner must care about his employees’ skills and try to join them into training courses that will improve their skills. Also, it is likely if the business owner ask his employees if they would like to learn something new that will help them to expand their work and benefit the company too.
- Set clear goals:
Identify the company’s goals clearly to the employees will help them to work together towards. Also, if the company has a clear vision and future plan, this will let the employees understand more the company strategy and work hard without interrupting. Moreover, it is great to share the new upcoming events and the new ideas with the employees and take their opinions, this will make the employees to stay in a comfort zone and feel happy about their situation.
- Support innovation, whether or not it works out:
Letting your employees to participate in the industry content and allow them to innovate new things is something great and interesting. It helps them understand their challenges and encourages growth. Also, through this method they will add a remarkable business value.
