Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the easiest robots we’ve tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. You’ll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you’d like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro’s front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it’s doing as well as where it’s heading and what obstacles it’s run into or avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock’s most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the other two Roborock models I’ve tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they’re a wall or another type of surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.
It’s the most expensive model I’ve tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn’t removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it’s a challenge to remove the mount to wash manually. I’ve found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery’s lifespan. You’ll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. In addition the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40’s extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice touch that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it’s done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that’s among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in numerous extra features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a good method to keep your home clean for longer.
There’s an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and elegant. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list however it’s not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
