Continued Uncertainty Of Brexit & IDA Funding

The IDA, has paid more than €42m to companies in the pharmaceutical, technological and food sectors as the threat of a potential hard-brexit becomes an ever increasing possibility. Through the EU’s State aid transparency rules, member states must public disclose details when individual sums greater than €500,000 are awarded. In addition Enterprise Ireland issued grants of €15m as revealed by the State Aid Transparency Module.

The largest of these grants were awarded to the pharmaceutical and technological sector with the pharma giant MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme) receiving near €7m experimental development, This was followed by Optum services at €6m and Pramerica Systems Ireland based in Letterkenny which received €5.25m.

It’s a trend of continued support for the organisations and providing assurance following the continued uncertainty of Brexit.
