Intel is to expand production in its Leixlip plant in response to a growth within the PC market which is the first major level of growth since 2011.
An additional $1bn being spent on several sites in Oregon, Arizona, Israel and Ireland. This comes in addition to the speculation of the soon to be announced 90,000sqm extension of the FAB24 facility based in Leixlip.
It is expected that this addition will create up to 4,000 new jobs. A contract for clearance is expected to be announced soon for the Kildare based site. With jobs in manufacturing and construction expected to be created.
